A whole lot of change!

Wow, where to begin! I started this blog over a year ago as we began our adoption journey. It proved to be a great way to keep family and friends updated on our progress as well as provide much needed awareness and education about the need of the children in Congo. I am sad and embarrassed to say, that I haven't kept up with this as I had originally planned. I have spent the last few months just loving my family and spending my "extra" time tending to them. Because of this, things like blogs, facebook, email and yes, sometimes even bills have been put aside. All of that said, I feel very different now and drawn to reconnect and continue the awareness and support for the forgotten children of the world.

When we brought Joshua home (a year ago last August), I think he was the first child from Our Family Adoptions that was brought to Indiana from the DRC. I don't know the exact numbers, but since then 3 children have been brought home and four others are in progress (and those are just the ones I know about!). It is truly amazing to me how God works through each of us to make an impact on the lives of others even when we don't know it.

I think the best way to get back into blogging is to draw attention to an awesome fundraiser. A week stay at a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in Destin, FL is being raffled off to raise funds for the orphans in Congo and relief for Haiti. Lastly, I need to at least post a few pictures of the kids! Caleb is 7 and in 1st grade, Amelia is 5 and in Pre-K and Joshua just turned 3 and attends a small preschool. They are all doing great. Joshua has been home 17 months and has celebrated two birthdays in the United States. I often forget that he is adopted, which I think can be good and bad. I have so much on my mind to report that this seems like a pretty boring place to begin, but it is a start. Follow along and I promise more excitement to come! :)
